Waiting on Wednesday #57: Gunslinger Girl

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Gunslinger Girl by Lyndsay Ely
Publication Date: January 2, 2018
Publisher: Jimmy Patterson
James Patterson presents a bold new heroine--a cross between Katniss Everdeen and Annie Oakley: Serendipity Jones, the fastest sharpshooter in tomorrow's West.
Seventeen-year-old Serendipity "Pity" Jones inherited two things from her mother: a pair of six shooters and perfect aim. She's been offered a life of fame and fortune in Cessation, a glittering city where lawlessness is a way of life. But the price she pays for her freedom may be too great....In this extraordinary debut from Lyndsay Ely, the West is once again wild after a Second Civil War fractures the U.S. into a broken, dangerous land. Pity's struggle against the dark and twisted underbelly of a corrupt city will haunt you long after the final bullet is shot.
Why Am I Excited For This Book?
The title is what first grabbed my attention about this book. I never considered myself a fan of Westerns. I remember watching a couple when I was a kid when my dad had them on, but it was never something I watched on my own or even sought out. Then I read Vengeance Road  (Vengeance Road #1) by Erin Bowman (my review for any interested) and LOVED it. So after seeing the title, I read the synopsis and thought that it sounded awesome. So I am really looking forward to reading this book by 2018 debut author, Lyndsay Ely. It sounds great and I can't wait to find out what happens to Pity.

What book are you waiting on this Wednesday?
