***I received an e-galley of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***

Honestly, I was a little hesitant to read Vengeance Road (but only a little!) because I wasn't sure it was a story that I would really like and enjoy. I haven't really read many Westerns and it isn't my usual type of read. But I decided to give it a try because I kept hearing great things about the it.  I also did think the synopsis sounded really interesting. Plus the title and cover are pretty awesome.

Oh my goodness, I am SO GLAD I did give Vengeance Road a chance because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Vengeance Road is awesome! The story is so engaging and entertaining. I didn't want to stop reading it! Vengeance Road is a fast-paced story full of action, adventure, discoveries, a band of enjoyable characters, with a bit of romance. It is definitely cutthroat and rough.

Kate Thompson is looking for justice. The Rose Riders killed her father and left Kate with pretty much nothing. She not only wants justice but she needs answers. So Kate decides to hunt down the Rose Riders and get justice. She disguises herself as a boy and ventures out into the Wild West. On her quest she meets a pair of brothers, Jesse and Will. The brothers are heading in the same direction and decide to ride along.

Bowman does an incredible job describing the Wild West in this story. Wonderful descriptions and imagery. I had no difficulties picturing it in my mind. In fact there were times I felt like I was there too.

So why do I think Vengeance Road is awesome?
Because Kate is a kick-butt character who means business. She doesn't care that finding the Rose Riders is going to be difficult. She needs vengeance and will do anything that will get her that.
The journey itself is very entertaining. There are a lot of things that happen along the way and are several secrets and discoveries to find out.

I really liked the characters, they were all so easy for me to care about.

Kate is strong and loyal. She can be stubborn and quick to act at times. But she also has a great amount of determination to complete her quest and seek vengeance on those who killed her father. She discovers a lot about her family and herself during this adventure. I easily started to care about her and enjoyed rooting for her. She really is a great character and I enjoyed her interactions (especially with the brothers) a lot.

I also really loved the brothers, Jesse and Will. So easy for me to care about them as well. They both have been through a lot, like Kate. They both care about their family and each other. I really enjoyed the sibling relationship and interaction. They want to do what is best for those they care about. I definitely loved Jesse quickly. He is a protector and willing to do whatever it takes to help his family. Will made me smile a lot and I liked how much he cared about Jesse and wanting to protect his older brother.

My Recommendation:

READ IT! I highly recommend reading this one. Even if you aren't sure because it isn't your normal read, I say give it a try. Vengeance Road is fast-paced and addicting. I immediately cared for the main characters and was excited to go on their quest through the Wild West. Vengeance Road is full of action and adventure with some gritty, bloody, and gruesome moments. Plus a cute romance. Vengeance Road is one of my favorite reads so far this year!
