Let's Build A Fan Cast- The Grisha Trilogy Nominations

(You can view the introduction post here.)

Hello everyone!

You might be wondering what happened with the last Fan Cast for Throne of Glass. I sadly didn't receive any nominations so there wasn't any casts to vote on. I plan to re-open those and see if anyone chooses to make any nominations. If not, then I plan to post my Throne of Glass Fan Cast at the end of October.

For October I will be Fan Casting The Grisha trilogy (Smoke and Bone, Siege and Storm & Ruin and Rising) by Leigh Bardugo. Since that is three books, I picked some of the more popular characters. There is also an area where you can cast a character that I have left off.

So as a reminder this is what I plan on us doing:

  • I have created a Google Form that you will find down below with some of the main characters from the book.
  • Answer under the character name with the name of the actor/actress that you nominate to Fan Cast.
  • You could also create your own blog post with your nominations and link it up to the nomination post in the comments.
  • After about two weeks I will take the nominations (either all of them or the top 5 for each character depending on how many different nominations there are) and create a voting poll so everyone can vote for their favorites.

I plan on keeping this form open until October 17th. Unless there are no nominations. Voting will begin after that.

Happy Fan Casting and please check back soon for more information regarding voting!

Great by Sara Benincasa

Title: Great
Author: Sara Benincasa
Length: 263 pages
Publisher: HarperTeen
Classification: Young Adult, Contemporary, Retelling,
Release Date: April 8, 2014
Source: Hardback (I won a copy of this book from Cuddlebuggery's Little Blogger, Big Ambitions project and Coranne @ The Best Books Ever. Thank you so much!)
Read: September 2014
In Sara Benincasa's contemporary retelling of The Great Gatsby, a teenage girl becomes entangled in the drama of a Hamptons social circle, only to be implicated in a tragedy that shakes the summer community. Everyone loves a good scandal. Naomi Rye usually dreads spending the summer with her socialite mother in East Hampton. This year is no different. She sticks out like a sore thumb among the teenagers who have been summering (a verb only the very rich use) together for years. But Naomi finds herself captivated by her mysterious next-door neighbor, Jacinta. Jacinta has her own reason for drawing close to Naomi-to meet the beautiful and untouchable Delilah Fairweather. But Jacinta's carefully constructed world is hiding something huge, a secret that could undo everything. And Naomi must decide how far she is willing to be pulled into this web of lies and deception before she is unable to escape. Based on a beloved classic and steeped in Sara Benincasa's darkly comic voice, Great has all the drama, glitz, and romance with a terrific modern (and scandalous) twist to enthrall readers.

Three plantations. Two wishes. One ancient curse.
All her life, Barrie Watson has been a virtual prisoner in the house where she lives with her shut-in mother. When her mother dies, Barrie promises to put some mileage on her stiletto heels. But she finds a new kind of prison at her aunt’s South Carolina plantation instead--a prison guarded by an ancient spirit who long ago cursed one of the three founding families of Watson Island and gave the others magical gifts that became compulsions.

Stuck with the ghosts of a generations-old feud and hunted by forces she cannot see, Barrie must find a way to break free of the family legacy. With the help of sun-kissed Eight Beaufort, who knows what Barrie wants before she knows herself, the last Watson heir starts to unravel her family's twisted secrets. What she finds is dangerous: a love she never expected, a river that turns to fire at midnight, a gorgeous cousin who isn’t what she seems, and very real enemies who want both Eight and Barrie dead. What I Plan to Watch This Fall

It is that time again. FALL TV SHOWS!
I love watching TV. And every year I get a list together of shows that I want to watch. But I usually fall behind and only keep up with a couple of the shows.
From what I have been looking at there are several on the first wave of Fall Premieres that I want to watch on my local stations: ABC, CBS, and NBC.
I will make another in a few months to go over the shows that are going to start MIDSEASON, that I want to watch.

Here is my FALL TV SHOW LINEUP.

One Year Blogiversary! (With Giveaway)

That's right! One year ago today, I started my blog and posted my very first post: Welcome!
I started this blog because I wanted (and was told that I needed) a hobby. And one of my favorite things to do is to read.
I read a lot, and one of my friends suggested that I should start a blog. And I am so happy that I did.
I might not be a big or popular blog, but this blog has brought me a lot of happiness.

When I first started this, I didn't have a clue of what I was doing. (I am still learning!)
So I didn't start posting a whole lot until February of 2014. And that was all thanks to me exploring the book blogging community more through Twitter and joining some challenges. Then I found the Love-a-Thon hosted by Katelyn and Alexa. And it was awesome. I had a lot of fun participating and meeting other book bloggers on the internet. I think it really helped me feel more like a blogger.

Since starting this blog, I have found so many new books and authors that I adore.

I like having a place where I can share my love of books, movies, TV shows, music and more...but mostly books.

So, THANK YOU to all the lovely book bloggers, friends, and others that follow, tweet with me, leave comments and talk books with me. It has been an awesome year, and I am really looking forward to this next one!

And since I am so excited, I have decided to have a giveaway.

The first giveaway is for a box of Young Adult Books.

There are 5 books total. There are a couple bargain books (they have the little black stripe on the bottom of the book and possible sticker residue on the back). And one used book that I am ready to pass on (I think it is in good condition).

These 5 books are:

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen
Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen (HB)
Unremembered by Jessica Brody

The Giveaway:

  • US ONLY (Sorry International readers, shipping is just too expensive to ship out of country)
  • I am not responsible for lost items in the mail.

But when failing health takes her grandparents to Arizona, she is left in charge of maintaining their estate. This includes the "special gifts" that must be left at the back of the property.

Salome discovers she’s a key player in a world she’s tried for years to avoid. At the center of this world is the strange and beautiful Nevin, who she finds trespassing on her family’s property. Cursed with dark secrets and knowledge of the creatures in the woods, his interactions with Salome take her life in a new direction. A direction where she'll have to decide between her longtime crush Colton, who could cure her fear of winter. Or Nevin who, along with an appointed bodyguard, Gareth, protects her from the darkness that swirls in the snowy backdrop. An evil that, given the chance, will kill her.

August Highlights

I hope everyone had an amazing summer. My summer has come to an end, if only the summer heat would go away with it. My Cutie Pie has started back up with school. She is in the second grade. Since I was traveling on vacation and now visiting with my Dad (he is in town which makes me so happy) I am not getting back on track as soon as I had wanted. Hoping September will hold more time for reading once our day by day routine gets back to normal.
