I was very excited to read an e-galley of Seven Days of You. I was looking forward to this story since the day I found out about it. It is one of my most anticipated debut author books for 2017, so you can imagine how much I was looking forward to reading this one.
I liked reading Seven Days of You, but I didn't fall in love with the story or the characters like I was really hoping I would. I did find the story to be enjoyable and I was able to stay hooked enough on the story to want to find out how it was all going to end. But overall, I just liked most of the story.
I found the main character, Sophia, to be a bit annoying. Some of the things she would say or do. I can't really pinpoint the main reason I found her to be annoying. I did dislike her nickname and rolled my eyes every time it was used. I found her family story to be interesting, I wanted to find out what was going to happen between her and her sister, as well as, what was going to happen with her dad. The big reveal between Sophia and her best friend Mika wasn't very surprising. I think Mika was an okay character. I didn't really like David, Sophia's other friend and not-so-secret crush. In fact, the character I liked the most was Jamie. I think Jamie is a good character. He has a lot going on in his life and I really enjoyed his interactions with Sophia. He seems like a sweet and caring person.
Now, the romance. I liked the romance part of the story overall. Parts of it were really adorable and I really enjoyed most of the interactions between Sophia and Jamie. But I didn't fall in love with them as a couple or feel that swoony burst of happiness about this couple. I did care enough about the romance to find out if they would end up together or not.
I did like that the setting was in Tokyo. I liked the adventures to various places that the characters went on. I enjoyed the mentions of going to karaoke or the things they ate. But overall, I didn't feel like I could really picture Tokyo while I was reading. I didn't completely feel the connection.

My Recommendation:
Overall, I enjoyed reading Seven Days of You, but I didn't fall in love with the story or the characters as much as I wish I would have. I was able to stay hooked on the story enough to want to find out what would happen. The romance was fine, but I didn't swoon. And I really wanted to find out what would happen between Sophia and Jamie. I also was interested in finding out what would happen between Sophia and her family. For me, Seven Days of You was an okay read, I liked parts of the story and some of the characters. If you're interested in reading it, I would recommend checking it out from the library.
