October 14th: Ten Places Books Have Made Me Want to Visit (Real or Fictional)

My post is going up a bit late today, I was planning on finishing it up (as well as catching up on bloggerish things) but a pretty bad storm rolled in last night and took out the power for hours. I am so glad that it happened not long after I finished up my last review and posted it. (I would have been sad for it to happen during that.)

Anyways, some of these places are ones that I have already been too, but after reading the books, I wanted to go back!

The Real Places:

1. Paris, France

The Book: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I've been to Paris before. I went on a school trip between my junior and senior year of high school. And I really loved being in Europe. So I would love to go back and visit again and do things based on my own itinerary.

2. Prague, Czech Republic

The Book: Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
When reading the book, Prague stayed in my mind. And I would love to see it in person one day.

3. London, England

The Book: A Mad, Wicked Folly by Sharon Biggs Waller
Granted this book takes place in a different time period. But I still would love to visit London, England. And I think there have been other books that I have read that have been set or partially set/visited London.

4. Brittany, France

The Book: Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
There is a possibility that visited this cultural region in France before. Some of the pictures have looked familiar. And I did visit the Mont Saint-Michel, which is between Brittany and Normandy. Nevertheless, I would love to visit there.

5. Yosemite National Park
The Book: Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
There were several places that Amy and Roger visit in this book, that I think would be fun to do too. But out of them all, I think Yosemite would be my favorite to visit. Yes, I am a bit scared of the bears and whatnot. But, I still think it would be gorgeous.

The Fictional Places:

6. Hogwarts: Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

I would love to go to Hogwarts.

7.  Erilea: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
(source)
So, the world of Throne of Glass may be a bit dangerous. But I would love to visit it. I love the book and I think a world that has Chaol, is definitely a place I would like to go! Plus this world is just so interesting!

8. Primoria: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
(source)
Another place that would probably be dangerous to go to, but I definitely wish I could! I would especially love to visit the Winter Kingdom.

9. Ravka: Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
(source)
Another dangerous place. But from reading the trilogy, I think that this would be another world that I would love to visit.

10. The World of The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

So...The places in The Lunar Chronicles also are not the safest places in the world, but I would love to go there. I love the world that Marissa Meyer has created. And I think it would be pretty interesting to visit. I think I would want to see it all.

How about you? Would you like to visit any of these places? Have you ever visited the Real Places? What are some of the Real or Fictional places that made your list?

  1. So many of your fictional places to visit were on my list but I though... "Well they sort of freak me out because of all the bad things" and I didn't include them. Except Hogwarts, which I included. All your real places are great choices as well! I want to go to all the places!
