Mini Challenge #1: We all love books, but there are other things we’re passionate about too! Mash-up a non-bookish hobby/passion/talent/fandom with your bookish life.

Well, I am pretty late with my first mini challenge post. We went to Pensacon yesterday (it was awesome, so much fun!) so I went to bed really late and exhausted. Which made it really hard for me to wake up today and get everything done.

I guess: better late than never, right?

So one of my favorite things to do is to play Video Games. I have been a video game player pretty much as long as I have loved reading. I remember playing the Atari 1600 when I was a kid. As well as, playing Mario Bros. 3 on the NES with my Dad. I would also play with my brother. I loved it. I still love it. (I totally wish my NES still worked!)

So today I am going to share with you one of my FAVORITE games (series) that I have fallen in love with.

DRAGON AGE!!!

Honestly, I can't remember that well when I first got the first game. It couldn't have been that long after it came out because I have played it a lot. (I became pretty obsessed and have even played the game all the way through with at least 3 different characters. And I am thinking of doing it again soon!) I remember L saying "I'm getting you this game, I think you'll enjoy it." And he was right.

Dragon Age
There are a lot of reasons I love playing all of the Dragon Age games. I love that I get to make so many decisions that will decide what happens in the game. I also love that there is some romance. I am a sucker for romance. (*Dreamy Eyes* Alistair and Cullen!) And I LOVE the story. I find it interesting and the storyline is one of my favorite things about playing RPGs. (Role Playing Game)

I wouldn't say Throne of Glass and Dragon Age are the same. But I do think that if you enjoy reading High Fantasy books and like playing video games, Dragon Age is a game to play!

 What are your non-bookish hobbies?

  2. I've heard a lot of great things about Dragon Age. I think I'm going to have to check it out sometime!
I love video games, too. Some of my favorite franchises are Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts. There's just something about a story in a game that draws you in, you know?
Some of my non-bookish hobbies, besides video games, are drawing, writing, binging TV shows, and going for hikes.

  3. I've heard of Dragon Age, but never played it! I really want to give it a shot, but I tend to be picky about the games I play. Glad to read about why you enjoyed it though. It makes me lean towards giving it a shot at some point!

  4. I will have to check these games out! High Fantasy is awesome and if it is at all comparable to Throne of Glass, it has to be awesome! I'm not a huge fan of playing xbox, but at the very least, I'll buy it for the BF and make him play it so I can watch! :)

  5. I haven't read Throne of Glass yet but it's on my TBR list. I like the way you compared Dragon Age to the series, that was a good idea. I like gaming too but I tend to play more simulation games rather than roleplaying.

  6. Awesome mash-up idea! I played video games all the time in college but I don't have my own system now so I haven't played in a long time. I love dragons so I'm sure that one is awesome!
