1. Meet Marissa Meyer. I know that one day, the stars will align and I will be able to meet Marissa Meyer and get her to sign my books. I LOVE The Lunar Chronicles series SO much, and I totally Fangirl over Marissa. She is just so awesome. (If you are reading this and don't know who she is, well, I recommend you find out more about her from her amazing blog. And READ all her books too!) And for all of you that have met her: I am SO very jealous. But also very happy for you. :D
2. Read 150 books in 1 year. I never really kept track of how many books that I read in a year, until I joined GoodReads near the end of 2013. This year my initial goal is 75 books in a year. But I hope that one year (maybe 2015) I will be able to read 150 books. I think it would be pretty awesome.
3. Organize my books by genre. When I have a bigger house, I will get one that has an extra room. A Guest Room. But more importantly this room WILL be my Library/Craft Room. I will have walls of bookshelves (enough to hold ALL my books) and then I will have the space to organize my books by genre/sub-genre/author (etc). And it will be amazing.
4. Read ALL the Sarah Dessen books. I just started my first Sarah Dessen book: The Truth About Forever and now I must read all her books. I love this story. And I have a feeling that I will like her other books.
5. Attend a book event. I would love to eventually be able to attend one of those HUGE book events where there are so many AWESOME authors and books and panels. It would be a dream come true.
6. Read every retelling that is on this Epic Reads YA Retellings chart!
I think it would be absolutely amazing/wonderful/spectacular (insert any other cool adjective here) to read all of these retellings. And this chart is just so epic. It would be cool to make it into a poster, then I could have a conversation piece when people visit my house..."Why yes, I HAVE read all these amazing books on this epic poster." Seriously, one day I would like to have accomplished this.

7. Interview an author. This would be so cool, but just the thought of it, already makes me nervous. I easily fangirl over authors that I LOVE. But it would be so cool to have an interview with one.
8. Continue with my book blog. There have been a couple times that I have thought that maybe I should just give up, there are so many book bloggers, and I am SO NEW at this, and hardly anyone even reads my blog, and I think, does anyone care? Then I remember, I CARE. I am enjoying this, and I have made some book blogging friends already. Anytime we chat on Twitter, it instantly brightens my day and makes me smile. I don't have very many people I can talk books with, and like all of you, books are a HUGE part of my life. So I hope that I continue to book blog and chat with everyone about books for many more years to come.
9. Continue to write and maybe eventually post my stories on my blog. I absolutely love writing. I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. And I participated in NaNoWriMo last year and almost finished the first draft of my first novel (that I feel really sucks). And I want to be able to finish it. And I already have SEVERAL other story ideas floating around that I am really anxious to work on. And I think it would be cool to someday get the courage to share my stories on my blog. I am worried about the criticism. But it is also something that I would love to eventually do.
10. Get a job that involves books. I have my degree in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education. And I am happy that I do (although I haven't used it yet due to having my children and being a stay at home mom) But I also would like to do something that has more to do with books. Like own a bookstore. Or be a librarian.
Oh my word - the retelling's chart is HUGE. Good luck with that one. And you have a really cool list.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like your blog a lot!

Thank you! It is huge! And thanks, I might need luck to finish that one! :D
DeleteI have #2 and #8 on my list too! I wanna read all Sarah Dessen books too, though I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read any yet. That map! I want to read all those retellings too! I got so excited when Epic Reads published that!!

Dress Up That Cover #1 - If I Stay
Yay! I just finished my first, and I can't believe I took so long to read her books. I got really excited about it too! I love Retellings, and there are so many that I didn't know about. Epic Reads is awesome.
DeleteThanks for commenting!
Great list! I'm with you on attending a book event and interviewing an author. And holy cow that is so many retellings! How many have you read on this list?
ReplyDeleteCassi @ My Thoughts Literally
Hmm...I don't think I have counted, but not very many. I am going to break down the list soon and start crossing off the few that I have read, then go from there. I wonder if there is a Retelling Challenge that I can join to help me along...lol.
DeleteThanks Cassi!
How awesome would it be to read all of those books on the retellings list? You should absolutely print it off and mark each one off as you read it! Reading all of those would help you with that 150 books goal!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever get the opportunity to meet Marissa Meyer, GO. She is awesome. We've met her a couple of times and simply love her and want to be her best friends. Plus, you know, her books are some of the best books ever.
I agree, it would be totally awesome, and it definitely would help reach the book goal! I agree Marissa is awesome! I think it would awesome to be friends with her!
DeleteThanks!
omg i love that chart! you have a great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love the chart too!
DeleteI seriously almost put the retelling chart on my list as well. Such a great goal!
ReplyDeleteYay! I do think it is a good goal. I know it will probably take me a while to reach it, but that is what goals are for, I think. Thanks Emily!
DeleteI think your goal of reading 150 books is doable, especially since you're starting with a smaller number and going from there. You'll be at 150 books in no time!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love how this is a Top 10 Tuesday! You may also want to link up to the original Bookish Bucket List, too!
DeleteThanks! I think it is doable too, thanks for the encouragement! And I will check out the link too!
