2015 #LoveAThon: Questionnaire Post

The Book Blogger Love-A-Thon is hosted by Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books!

I am so excited for the Book Blogger Love-A-Thon this year! This is my second year participating, I had a lot of fun last year and looking forward to meeting new bloggers this year! :D

*What’s your name?
Stephanie

*Where in the world are you blogging from?
The US. Specifically Florida.

*How did you get into blogging in the first place?
I first decided to start a blog because one of my best friends thought it would be a good idea. She knew how much I love reading and I am constantly recommending books for her to read when she has some free time. So she said that I should start one. I laughed it off. Then I started thinking about how I did need a hobby, and how much I love reading. So I decided to go ahead and do it.

*How did you come up with your blog name?
Well, my current blog name is new. I just changed it this year. I changed it to My Bookish Itinerary, because I really wanted a new blog name that was more bookish and shorter. (My old blog name was Her Reviews of Books, Movies, and Everything.) I was thinking about various names and My Bookish Itinerary popped in my head. I fell in love with it because I love that books take me various places.

*What genre do you read and review the most on your blog?
I primarily read and review Young Adult books. I love reading YA. I also have been wanting to read a bit more Middle Grade and New Adult. I also read and review Children's Books. I started doing this last year with my eldest, Cutie Pie. But this year my little one (4 y/o), Pooh Bear, wants to join us.

*What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews?
I have been enjoying participating in some Memes. Top Ten Tuesday, Waiting on Wednesday, and Feature & Follow Fridays are fun. I also have started wanting to do some interviews: Featured Bloggers and I would love to start having Featured Author Interviews.

*Best blogging experience so far?
I think I have had a lot of good blogging experiences so far. But recently I have been really excited about a couple of things: 1. I reached 100 Bloglovin' followers (Which I find just amazing, I am beyond excited about it! Thanks too all the people following my blog!) 2. I have been getting approved for more e-galleys via NetGalley and Edelweiss (sure, I still get some declined requests, but I have gotten a few these past two months that have really excited me!)

But I guess the best experience is the fact that I have been doing this hobby for an entire year now, and that really makes me happy. When I first started, I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't even know if it was something I would like or stick with. And I have and I love it.

*Favorite thing about the blogging community?
I think my favorite thing about the blogging community is being able to find online friends to talk to. I have been feeling lonely, so it is always nice when one of my blogging friends leaves a comment or we have a conversation on Twitter. Makes me smile every time. I love having some people that shares my love for books.

*Name the 5 books you’re most excited for this 2015!
I am excited for A LOT of books this year...so it is really hard to keep this list to just 5 books!

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (I seriously am so excited for this book. I wish I would have written my first ARC request and requested this one.)
2. Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4) by Sarah J. Maas
3. Ice like Fire (Snow Like Ashes #2) by Sara Raasch (I will do pretty much anything for this one! So excited!)
4. Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer
5. The Raven King (The Raven Boys #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

*What’s an underrated book or series that you think everyone should read?
I am having a really hard time coming up with an answer for this one. I have read a lot of books and I feel like my favorite-must reads are pretty popular books, so they aren't really underrated.

I really loved One Past Midnight by Jessica Shirvington. (It has about 2,152 ratings & 577 reviews, on Goodreads, which is less than a lot of my favorites!) I really enjoyed reading the story and found it to be pretty unique!

*Which book boy or girl would be your book BFF?
There are several book boys and girls that I would like to be BFFs with. I am going to have a hard time limiting my pick...
I would really like to be BFFs with:
Iko (The Lunar Chronicles)
Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles)
Celaena (Throne of Glass)
and
Meira (Snow Like Ashes)
Just to name a few...I could probably go on for a long time.

*Apart from reading, what are your other hobbies or interests?
I enjoy watching TV shows. (There are so many that I am addicted to!)
I love playing games. We try to have at least one game night a month for playing board games. I enjoy playing those with friends/family and even kid games with my girls. I also enjoy playing video games.
And I doing crafts. Making fingerpuppets, headbands/hair clips for my daughters, scrapbooking, making wreaths, etc. Though I haven't been doing very much of those things lately.

*Apart from book shopping, what else do you like shopping for?
Hmmm....I guess craft stuff. I am not really into shopping very much (other than book shopping). I do enjoy going to the craft store to pick out new stuff for scrapbooking, sewing, and charms for my charm bracelet. As well as picking out new things to use to make headbands for my girls.
I also really like buying journals and pens. :D

*At a party, the DJ suddenly changes the song – and it’s your song.
What song would be playing?
That is tough. My song is probably always changing based on my mood. I really love music. Right now I have really enjoyed listening to "Shake it Off"- Taylor Swift. I really like the message behind the song. And also it is just VERY CATCHY. Gets stuck in my head pretty easily. (Also my 4 year old loves it. She has been a Taylor Swift fan pretty much since birth, it was the only music that would make her stop crying!)

*Pick out either a book you want turned into a film/TV show, or a film/TV show you want turned into a book.
This is hard, because there are several favorites that I would like to see as a film/TV show. So I will just keep this to my current Top Three. :D
The Lunar Chronicles
Throne of Glass
Snow Like Ashes

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am looking forward to getting to know some new bloggers through this year's #LoveAThon!

    1. It has been pretty warm here. I am not a big fan of the heat though. But I do think if I would move away I would end up missing it here. I do wish it was more winterish though. I hope that you get to warm up soon, I know the north-east has been having extremely cold weather this winter! Thanks! I love having things in common. :D
I hope you have had a great Love-A-Thon as well and I hope to see you around. Thanks for stopping by!

  16. Hiiii Stephanie! First of all, thank you for stopping by The Fox's Hideaway during the love-a-thon! I've been so late with replies and commenting back, but I'm HEREEEE.

Passing those blogging milestones are always cool! Here's to many more wonderful experiences. :)

RAVEN KING RAVEN KING! That book is sure to kill me, but I neeeeed it in my life! I still want to read a Jessica Shirvington book. And oh, Iko would be a wonderful friend to have in real life! The Lunar Chronicles would make an AWESOME TV show!

I am notorious for starting, becoming addicted to, and then stopping TV shows mid-season on Netflix. Haha. It's a problem. Current obsession: The Tomorrow People.

It was so nice getting to know you! :)
