"I think, in time, you'll either be my greatest mistake or my greatest victory."
Former witch hunter Elizabeth Grey is hiding within the magically protected village of Harrow, evading the price put on her head by Lord Blackwell, the usurper king of Anglia. Their last encounter left Blackwell ruined, but his thirst for power grows stronger every day. He's readying for a war against those who would resist his rule--namely Elizabeth and the witches and wizards she now calls her allies.
Having lost her stigma, a magical source of protection and healing, Elizabeth's strength is tested both physically and emotionally. War always means sacrifice, and as the lines between good and evil blur once more, Elizabeth must decide just how far she'll go to save those she loves.

***I received an e-galley of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***

Last year I enjoyed reading The Witch Hunter, so I was very excited to read this sequel. Part of me wishes I would have thought to reread The Witch Hunter before reading The King Slayer (or at least would have thought to read a recap). I did forget a few things that had happened. But it wasn't hard for me to get pulled back into this world and remember how much I enjoyed the characters.

I think The King Slayer is a great sequel and ending to a wonderful duology. I really enjoyed reading it, in fact I liked it even more than the first one (which I really liked a lot)!

The King Slayer is full of  heart-pounding action! There is so much happening in this story and it kept me completely entertained. I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen. I also loved that there were twists that really surprised me. So awesome. I also loved the magic in this story, it is so fascinating.

I found The King Slayer, captivating and suspenseful. I loved finding out more about the characters that I already love, and meeting some new characters that really add to the story.

Elizabeth and John. Oh my goodness. I had so many feelings about these two the entire time I was reading this book! Both characters have to figure out their lives now that there have been some really big way of life changes, and they both spend a lot of time accepting what happened.  As well as, figuring out a way to defeat Blackwell once and for all. Speaking of Blackwell, he is still creepy and dangerous.

My Recommendation:

I really enjoyed reading The King Slayer. I think it is a great sequel and a good ending. The world is creative and magical. The characters are awesome and well developed. I was completely captivated by the story. It has a lot of action that made my heart race and a lot of feelings about characters and the surprising twists. If you enjoyed reading the first book, The Witch Hunter, I highly recommend reading this one too. I really enjoyed reading it.
