Feature & Follow Friday #1: Perfect Co-blogger

This weekly meme is hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read!

HOW IT WORKS:

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you visit the blogs of our illustrious hosts and leave your name on the post using using the linky tools, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

THIS WEEKS QUESTION:

Create an ad listing all the qualities and qualifications of your perfect co-blogger. via Girl of 1000 Wonders

MY ANSWER:

I have thought a few times about having a co-blogger.
My perfect co-blogger would:
  • Know something about blog design. I try really hard to keep my blog looking nice, but I am not that good at designing stuff. Granted, I did just start trying this year. So I am practicing. But it could be helpful to have a co-blogger that knew how to do HTML and design. Maybe that person could help me learn more.
  • Be a good listener. I would want someone that is good at listening to my ideas and will help bounce ideas back. I am still searching for an idea of a feature that others would want to come to my blog for. So it could be nice to have someone to help think up ideas and listen to the ones that I have.
  • Be understanding. Blogging is my hobby. And I mostly review books that I decide to read. I currently don't really receive any ARCs from publishers, unless I won them. So I would want someone that understands that I do this for fun, and that I don't post everyday.
It has been fun thinking of what kind of co-blogger I would like to have. Though, I don't think I will be looking for one any time soon.

  3. I totally agree with your #1! Blog designs are so expensive! I think I'm going to try to get into design over the next year. Old follower :)

    1. They are. But I understand, because the little bit that I have been trying, it takes a lot of work. Or maybe I am just a slow learner.
      Thanks for stopping by Tracy!

  4. Those are very important qualities. I have a coblogger and many guest bloggers. When they ask about my blog "rules" I always say that pretty much anything can go as long as it's respectful - with that comes the things that you mentioned. Knowing something about design is a HUGE plus. I'd hate to have to go back and do/redo everything other bloggers did on the site.

  5. Blog design! I should have thought about that. It is an area that I lack skills. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am an old follower.
