HOW IT WORKS:
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you visit the blogs of our illustrious hosts and leave your name on the post using using the linky tools, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
THIS WEEKS QUESTION:
Do
you own any doubles of your books? What led to getting that second…or
third or fourth…copy? – A
Great Read
MY ANSWER:
Hmmm....usually if I have doubles of books it is either because I forgot I already owned something and found it at a used book sale and picked it up.
Or because I own both the e-book and the physical copy. (Mostly this!)
I have a few books that I own both the physical (hardback or paperback) and the e-book copy of:
I have these three all on my Kindle.
Then I participated in a Scarlet readalong and won! It was awesome! So I won a paperback copy of Scarlet that had a signed bookplate in it!!! (If you are new to my blog, then I must tell you I LOVE this series very much! I huge fan of Marissa Meyer. It is easily one of my all time favorite series!) So you can imagine my excitement. Then I won a giveaway for a book called The Only Boy, and the wonderful blogger hosting the giveaway included a surprise book in the box as well. And it turned out to be Cress! Which REALLY excited me. And of course since I had Scarlet & Cress, I had to buy a copy of Cinder.

The Raven Boys, Shiver, Linger, Forever, and Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater
Yes, I have both of these books as well.
I got a paperback copy of Shiver years ago. My to-be sister in law and brother in law, bought a copy for me for Christmas. It was not long after I had gotten back into reading a lot. And I enjoyed reading it, so I then bought a copy of Linger. (HB).
Then a couple years passed.
But I didn't own a copy of Forever. Then the bundle of the three books went on sale for the Kindle and it was cheaper to buy the bundle than to get Forever. So I bought the e-book bundle.
And I bought The Raven Boys (read it and LOVE IT!).
Then over the summer, I found out that Maggie Stiefvater was going to be in PA for a book signing for Sinner! And it wasn't too far from where I was visiting family. So I went. And naturally I brought the books I already owned, and then purchased a physical copy of Forever, Sinner, and The Raven Boys so I could get them all signed.
And I bought the e-book of Sinner because it went on sale and I thought I could read it and not mess up my signed copy.
Here are a few others:
- Crewel
- These Broken Stars
- Shadow & Bone
- The Madman's Daughter
- Of Poseidon
- Warm Bodies
There are probably more that I can't really think of right now.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
What about you? Do you have multiple copies of books? Which ones?
Cool choices! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I am a new follower. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! And thank you for stopping by mine! :D
DeleteYou have some great titles on your list, many of them are on my to-read pile. Warm Bodies was amazing, I read it a couple years ago and LOVED IT... but I had an ebook so I will probably end up buying a double copy. I think it is necessary sometimes to buy a phisical copy if you just own the digital one, but honestly, I would do it just for the books I really liked or if I find some good offers ^^

Thank you! I agree, I love Warm Bodies! I bought the e-book first, but the author Isaac Marion, was here (2013 I think) and had a book signing, so OF COURSE I HAD TO buy a copy so I could get it signed! Exactly what I do. If I already have the physical book, but it is one I like and there is a good deal for the e-book, I might end up getting it there too. Thanks so much for the follow and for stopping by my blog! :D
DeleteI had triples of Cinder, two of them were ARC's and one of them was a finished copy that I had won from Marissa Meyer in a giveaway and was signed. I kept one of the ARC's that I had received for review and then trade the other one with a fellow blogger for a different book that I was dying to read and kept the signed finished copy because beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading and Hopping Through! :)
Suz @ A Soul Unsung
That is awesome! I LOVE The Lunar Chronicles covers! They are beautiful! I definitely would have kept the ARC too. Thanks for stopping by! :D
DeleteMy mother had a no used book rule, so I tried to avoid those.

DeleteThank you for stopping by and for the follow back!
WOW, you have chosen some beautiful books to own more than one copy of, Stephanie! When a book has a truly beautiful cover, I feel like getting the paperback or the hardback, too, but I don't really have enough space for more books... maybe I'll make sure everybody agrees that I need to have a whole wall of bookshelves in our vacation home :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by yesterday. I'm following you back via GFC and Twitter :)
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thanks, Lexxie! I agree, when the covers are so beautiful I just want to own them and be able to hold it in my hands. I definitely get the running out of space. I don't have much space for books either. So I have been trying to limit. Plus it is hard for me to get rid of books.
DeleteI hope you do get to have a whole wall of bookshelves in your vacation home! I would love to have a little library for all my books when we get a bigger house. :D
Thank you so much for stopping by and for the follow back! :D
Ahh! You've chosen some great books to own many copies of!
ReplyDeleteI am exactly the same – I sometimes forget that I own specific books and will want to buy them again (usually someone reminds me haha)

Thanks! Its good that you have someone that will remind you. I usually don't remember until I get home with them. I am the worse when it comes to kids books. My 8 year old has so many, so I don't remember which chapter books she already has. Luckily if she is with me, she will usually remind me that she already has that one.

The Madman's Daughter? I never heard of it! Excuse me Stephanie, but I'll go check that book....
